Bluntrock Brewery is an exciting nanobrewery and taproom in Rock, Cornwall that opened in 2020. Sited in four bright yellow refurbished shipping containers, they brew 450 litres of craft beer each week that is sold at their onsite taproom. Founders George and Hugo commissioned a set of hairpin leg bar chairs and hairpin leg bar stools in birch plywood and charcoal, and six bar-height hairpin leg tables in plywood with a dark grey laminate. for the interior bar area of the taproom.

Waterfell is a single storey, eco-friendly and open plan cabin that cantilevers over the small burn 'Alt Dubachain' in the Scottish Highlands. The modern design is prefabricated before being delivered and assembled on site. Completed in spring of 2021, the owners ordered a bespoke round Modsys table to compliment their contemporary Nordic style interior design.

Cancleave offers contemporary self-catering holiday accommodation in a stunning cliff top position in North Cornwall. Over the winter of 2020/21 it was completely redeveloped, with a new building designed around an open plan kitchen, dining and living area. Three of our hairpin leg bar chairs were ordered in orange and ply to provide a pop of colour around the kitchen island.
The St Moritz is an Art Deco, Miami-inspired hotel on the north coast of Cornwall. The team at design agency Absolute were responsible for the interiors and branding after a full rebuild in 2009, and recently returned to refurbish the hotel’s garden apartments. We were engaged to design and build steel-framed wardrobe/dresser units for the “cosy” bedroom of each apartment.
Houston’s Memli Coffee Lab takes an innovative approach to coffee roasting, using sensory experiments and workshop sessions to develop customers’ understanding of specialty grade coffee. For their new workshop and training room they ordered a bar-height Nola table with matching timber inside leg inlays and four hairpin leg bar chairs, all in pale birch ply with white steel.
The Seven Stars is a historic pub occupying a grade 2 listed building in Penryn, Cornwall, that was transformed into a brew pub with rooms in 2020. Design agency Absolute worked across the project, from the interiors through to the brand itself. Absolute commissioned bespoke hanging glass racks for above the bar, and an under-lit back-bar bottle display.

Charitable Impact is a Canadian donation platform that allows users to open an impact account (like a bank account) from which they can manage their charitable donations. They recently renovated their work space in Vancouver and created a collaborative workspace for their team, furnished with tables, stools and bar stools using hairpin legs from Cord’s range, paired with locally sourced timber table and stool tops.
Leap is an eco design agency focused on incorporating people, planet and profit into the design process. They specialise in delivering impactful design solutions in a sustainable way. Leap recently relocated their studio to Truro, Cornwall, and commissioned a Nola meeting table in cherry and white, and a pair of complimentary hairpin leg bar chairs for their new space.
12 Beach Road is an all-day dining destination and bar overlooking Towan Beach in Newquay, Cornwall serving up fresh fish and seaside signatures, alongside coffee, cocktails and craft beers from their new bar. We were commissioned to create over-bar units (to hold glassware), shelving and a compliment of hairpin leg bar stools in plywood and pink steel.
Goonhilly Earth Station, a radio and satellite communications hub on Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula, was once the largest satellite earth station in the world. Their commercial and conference facilities were recently redeveloped, with Penryn-based Quay Studio designing the new interior. As part of the project they required laptop tables for delegates and approached us with a concept that we took through to production, delivering 120 tables to Goonhilly at a substantial cost saving.
St Eval Candle Company produces handmade candles, fragrances, soaps and lotions from their farm in North Cornwall. Working with A Side Studios, St Eval Candle Company recently rebranded and this included a new exhibition stand for them to showcase their products at trade shows, and fairs. Cord designed and made seven shelving units, a rolling island unit, and a bespoke Nola table to sit flush with the island unit with four hair pin leg bar stools in ash and Old English White steel.
The Level Collective is an ethical outdoor supply and lifestyle brand from Sheffield. Founder Mark was after a set of modular stands with shelves and hanging rails that could be configured in a variety of different ways to showcase their products at the festivals and shows they exhibit at, but that he could also transport in his car. We developed his initial ideas to create these packable and easy to use show stands in line with the brand’s aesthetic.
Yallah Coffee Roasters are a speciality coffee roasters based in Falmouth, Cornwall. They expanded their roastery and HQ with a first floor mezzanine where they run training and tasting sessions for baristas and staff from the cafes, restaurants and bars that serve their coffee. We designed and made a Nola pedestal table for use as a cupping table, and worked with Nick at Coast Creative Joinery to design and fit out the training space.
Yallah Coffee Roasters are a speciality coffee roasters based in Falmouth, Cornwall. Their first retail site is a waterfront kiosk in St Ives, Cornwall, serving coffee, tea and doughnuts through a serving hatch onto the busy harbourside. The odd-shaped kiosk required a complete refit. We worked with Nick at Coast Creative Joinery bespoke to design a coffee machine and sink unit, a till stand/doughnut rack, a floating shelving unit and new serving hatch with removable serving shelf.
Ore Studios are a residential and commercial interior design practice based in Seattle, Washington, who believe in “bright, informed, and functional design that values both people and the spaces they inhabit”. Their Capitol Hill House project saw them renovating a 100-year-old house in central Seattle, and they commissioned a set of five hairpin leg bar chairs in blue and oak for the large kitchen island unit.
Located under the Mancunian Way on Manchester’s Oxford Street, Hatch is a pop-up retail, food and drink destination housed in a conglomeration of converted shipping containers. Öl is a nano brewery and keg bar serving their own brews and a selection of guest beers. They ordered several birch plywood hairpin leg tables in pink and turquoise to complement their Scandinavian inspired minimalist interior.
The D-Day Story is the UK’s museum dedicated to remembering the people and events leading up to and following Operation Overlord and the Allied invasion of Europe on June 6th 1944. The D-Day Story (formerly The D-Day Museum) was re-opened on Good Friday 2018 following a £5million refurbishment, and as part of the museum’s revamp a squadron of our hairpin leg stools (in mint green and birch-faced plywood) have been stationed in one of their interactive exhibition spaces.
Arnold’s Kitchens are a bespoke kitchen company blending modern and industrial styles and who specialise in creating incredible concrete worktops. They have created kitchens across the UK, Channel Islands and Africa, but they too are based right here in Cornwall. In this East London residential project, three of our hairpin leg bar stools in yellow steel and cherry wood were chosen to compliment a concrete kitchen island that was cast in a single pour, with no joins, and hand trowelled.
Hailer is a content marketing company working with a select stable of companies, crafting the stories and imagery that define brands, grow followings and improve performance. Upon moving into new premises, Cord designed and built a set of adjustable height (and rolling) standing desks with reclaimed laboratory worktops for the office’s modular layout.
Yallah Coffee Roasters are a speciality coffee roasters based in Falmouth, Cornwall, supplying single origin coffee to cafés and restaurants all over the UK. They also pull coffee for crowds at festivals and events, and needed a heavy-duty branded mobile coffee bar for when they go on tour. Cord worked with Felix McCormack and Apply Works to build their rolling barista bar.
